Effect of Different Soil Types and Plant Densities on Growth Dynamic and Yield of Sweet Corn (Zea mays L.) in Peninsular Malaysia

Aims: Soils and plant densities are two of the major factors affecting sweet corn growth yield. Although many worldwide studies were done to evaluate effect these on corn, it is still necessary do more study in this area because environmental will give significant yield corn. The objective assess optimization through different for type soils (Zea mays L.) cultivation.
 Study Design: experiment was carried out from February May 2018 using split-split plot design with four replications. Analysis Variance (ANOVA) probability value @ 0.05 LSD used analyze obtained data. Regression analyses performed Nonlinear Model (NLIN Procedure); Logistic Growth y=A/(1+be-cx) their rate change calculated its derivate, dy/dx = (Abce-cx)/(1+be-cx)2.
 Methodology: A variety seed Akik SC422 at (i) which riverine soil (Tanah Merah, Kelantan), BRIS (Bachok, peat (Simpang Renggam, Johor) sedentary (UPM, Serdang, Selangor) assigned as main plots (ii) 1 2 row(s) per bed arrangements subplots (iii) 25 cm 50 planting distances formed sub-subplots.
 Results: Interaction between 2-row arrangement distance produced highest potential height while 1-row best stem diameter. interaction distance; low density cob weight, length, diameter, thousand kernel’s weight total sugar content. This reflected by higher rates photosynthesis rate, leaf relative chlorophyll content each individually plant. However, high quantity hectare.
 Conclusion: Results confirms that differences growth, physiological attributes components grown types, distances.
